Because this is Disney. They make their movies too white and black and it´s normal because it´s for children but there are limits!. This is a great movie but the choice of the villians and the way they treat Frollo is a quite stupid for those who know the original story. When you read the book he´s nothing like this. So this movie is totally inacurate in terms of characters. As much as I love this version they weren´t capable of show how deep and profund the characters are

I can see the Lion King being based off Hamlet, but I wouldn't say it's THAT close. Pretty much the point of Hamlet was to show this guy who didn't want to kill someone so he puts it off by making long speeches. Life and murder's, like, a major theme.But Simba finds out what happens to his dad and he doesn't vacillate and waffle and stuff, which is 90% of Shakespeare's play.I think it's kind of a Hero's Journey-ish Hamlet, really.
