to jsb3287....it is possible you might have OCD. If it gets to a point where it is affecting your life in a negative way do yourself a huge favor and see a psychiatrist. There are alot of good medications they might put you on. Don't be embarased about seeking help....this is a very common problem. My mom had a pretty serious case of it and did not seek help for many many years. When she finally got on some medication it helped her SO MUCH!!!!

yes, you can get it again. I got it when I was 9 and had a year of couselling, then I finally got over it. It came back when I was 13 years old, then I had to have yet another year of couselling. My symptons were: repeating my steps (walking back and forth in the same spot for up to 100 times), repeatedly checking my window and power points before I went to sleep, repeating words, repeating touching things and all that sort of stuff.

I had OCD pretty bad in middle and high school. At night I would have to do these bizarre counting rituals before I could go to sleep. They would take anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours, since if I "messed up" at any point I would have to start over again. This got to be so time counsuming and frustrating that I decided to scale back just a little bit every week, the the point where I only did about 1-2 minutes of my ritual. It took about a year to get to this point.

I used to have severe OCD as a child before I even knew what it was. I was amazed to find out I wasn't alone and when I saw videos like this one and saw how ridiculous it was, I eventually grew out of it. A lot of it is mind over matter. Ironically, another negative condition helped me conquer OCD - laziness! Thank God for sloth!

I also have OCD and feel the need to close doors. This symptom isn't listed anywhere that I have seen, but I many have told me they have this symptom.

I have obsessive compulsive disorder, but I try to hide it from everyone else. It constantly makes me close doors because for some reason, I feel as though every door should be shut, and there is also plenty of other things as well. |
