But Led Zeppelin still made a controbution to the development of metal you should listen to dazed and confused.this song was regarded as one of the first heavy metal songs. that song was released in 1969 and black sabbath's first album was released in 1970. it is impossible to say that Led Zeppelin along with bands like deep purple, alice cooper and the who didnt help develop heavy metal.

Just to clarify, yeah Led's overrated. That doesn't make it bad in the least. Plenty of things in this life are overrated yet still great. Take sex for example, WAY overrated in culture today. It's still Fucking great though. This band, is still an inexplicable type of blues and rock and various other styles music blended that none have been able to duplicate to date.
