I've been watching the original Twilight Zone episodes and many of the themes Serling makes comment on still exist today - poker machine addicttion, childhood obsession, weaknesses of the human spirit and particularly the theme of hating the time one was born in and wanting escape. Listening to this i/v I think he secretly wanted to escape to another time - quite possibly the past. The man is still a genius. If he existed today TV execs would probably fire him!

Hey! That can't be the real Rod Serling! When he talks about eskimo costumes - he's SMILING! haha ;) I thought that was pretty cool. I wonder how he laughs. I'd love to see him laughing his ass off! :P

he said that there wouldnt be time to find an axe to grind or make social commentary on things in the twilight zone, but you know what, i give the man an a for effort, because many of the twilight zone eps were just that. a way of looking at things from a new perspective. The man beat the sensors at their own damned game. Kudos to Rod for his enigmatic genius.

I miss the days of smoking cigs onscreen in tv interviews.
