There was a book came out a while back that documented the many mysteries of multiple uncles and no parents in the Duck family tree. Its probably on Wikipedia by now.

Yeah, but he wasn't used to having to take care of children, so he wanted to get out of that. He did warm up later though.

I don't know how much they focused on this TV show, but from the comics, you get the idea, that Scrooge is a business genius. He sure knows how to turn things into profit. And he's a hard worker, and he saves more money than what he spends.
