I am not sure your assertion that "humans are the only species that relies on the promotion of equality" is correct. If we observe the behaviour of, say, Apes we can see disputes being settled by third parties. Canines exhibit similar behaviour (tinyurl com slash 5wvgsr). Monkeys have striked for better pay (tinyurl com slash 6arpat). Etc.

"Justice is not based on equality in many circumstances - it is based on revenge"However, revenge is ultimately based on the act of "getting even"! My question is where did this frame of mind originate from? Why is it that animals seem to rely on the process of inequality, whilst humans seem to be the only species that relies on the prmotion of equality? It seems to me that humans have been granted with "gifts" that seperate us from the animal kingdom.

We may contend that. Justice is not based on equality in many circumstances - it is based on revenge. Our instincts are to live in small societies who look out for each other. When a member of the clan violate this rule we punish them and eject them from our group. Of course, there is also the justice where people get what they deserve from people who are unwilling to own up to their end of the deal. This is also us wanting to live in a favourable society.

Instinctive behaviour is based on a natural inclination to act in a certain way. As far as we can tell, all actions of all animnals are driven by their desires to compete within the Natural Selection process. Human beings also have natural inclinations. Humans are different in that we contain the potential to act outside Natural Selection process. Eg. Justice has no place in nature simply because it defends the notion of 'equality', whereas animals operate upon the tenet of inequality.

"This is instinctive behaviour only"Describe how humans are immune from instinctive behaviour and how you can tell the difference.
