I hit 19,146 today with my 2 Sapphire 3870's @ 840mhz core clock and my Q6600 @ 3.7ghz. Very happy :D

Also if he'd run Vantage it would severely kick ass. Phenom and Crossfire scales much better in that benchmark.

you should look up some reviews and look around at futuremark. The score is normal for this system. A single card with the setup would get around 10'900 or so. Also do remember the 8800GTS card is faster than a single HD3870.

i think he should get more, i get 11800 with my e6750, 4gb ddr2, 8800gts 512mb.

he's score is in the normal range for such a setup.

Yeah, I did indeed underclock the RAM because, the RAM controller being built into the Phenom, overclocking the CPU also overclocks the RAM.And I pushed the 9600 as far as I was willing to do stablely without raising the CPU voltage. I'm not about to increase the voltage as it might decrease the lifespan of the CPU. Though I've since turned the overclock speed back down. I'm probably gonna sell it off sometime in the next couple months and get a 9850 BE anyway.

I know its not heat, ive tried a little higher voltage but didn't seem to make a difference... I dont want to break anything because this is pretty much my first time overclocking and the computer is less than a week old (plus i've been saving for a year for it) |
