His hook shot was so unique which made kareem soo dominating, unstoppable and 4 him unblockable.

In the early 80's I patterned my game behind Kareem, Dr. J and Magic. I was between the ages of 14 and 18 back then and shorter in stature. I'm 6'1" now, but I used to literally dismiss my opponents off of the court with the Skyhook. Often times on taller opponents. Defenders knew what was coming time after time and still was unable to stop it. A virtually impossible shot to defend. Thank you Kareem for adding an unstoppable art to the game of basketball and thanks for adding this video.

Nice compilation, I love the LA Lakers! (especially that 80's team) - had to watch the video with thew sound muted though (that music sucks!).

I think music is appropriate. The chorus says "never doooo... what they do, what they do, what they do". Kareem was unique and they sky hook master has never been duplicated. Also, this song is by The Roots and with Kareem being astute of African-American politics, history, and art, it might be more fitting. |
