You hit the nail on the head Kirby! It's part of the American Psyche to categorize everybody and everything into a list, I think it has to do with the fact the we started as 13 states and many more, However, I get annoyed when everything form is programmed to only include American style address, phone etc, and not have anywhere to put bi-racial backgrounds, everybody has to be categorized, very Orwellian I say.

yes the soviets liked lists. still its important that stalin said he didn't like lists. after all, lists often frequently imply a hierarchy. when you make a list, lets say before you go grocery shopping, one might erroneously assume that it has been prioritized. a devout communist ideologue might argue therefore that instead of promoting the equality espoused by unadulterated communist theory, the list represents a hierarchy that mimics the disparity in power between different classes of people

I have the ultimate listbecause movie makers are now into the whole "let's make movies in the correct language now so they can be 'based on a true story'" school of thought, and most movie-goers are lazy(otherwise they'd be living life); bullet point what the people are saying beside the actors! To those of you who actualy read that whole comment, thanks.

Stalin and his henchmen - and any other communist leaders - LOVED to make lists of people who didn't believe in communism.

hate to disagree but Joseph Stalin and the USSR actually were quite big fans of lists. . . They had many lists. They had lists of laws, lists of aims, lists of everything. Lists are very good ways of keeping control and what did the soviets want? Control. . . They LOVED lists, more so than the US, don't make passing comments like that unless you want someone to correct the mistakes you made. . .Cheers.
