awesome video. aren't the number of seconds from the start of the song to the first lyrics somehow of relevance too? i read somewhere it was equal to another mathimatical rule.i always thought at the end he says "what ever will bewilder me, what ever will be willed on me" instead of repeated bewilder me twice. i always interpretted that as like an acceptance of wherever his destiny may take him.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was so confused as to how they got a Fibonacci sequence out of those numbers
Hailtothegun (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
They aren't a true Fibonacci sequence, but each individual song pairing adds up to a Fibonacci number (13); spiraling inward, culminating with the 13th track placed right at the center, and then spiraling out from there.6+7=135+8=134+9=13131+12=132+11=133+10=13

I liked Tool before seeing this video but now I LOVE TOOL!!! Thanks for making this and sharing it with us!!!

It's a spiral, not a Fibonacci spiral, but a spiral nonetheless.

your right, damn.

If you group two of the values that are beside one another then their sum is 13. So that is pretty interesting in itself.

I am not an expert with this or anything, but how the number continue to grow, or spiral, to a greater and greater value. You can both increase the value, for example 3,5,8,13, or you can decrease the value by going the opposite way. It is a continuous spiral, that can go both outwards and inward. This is a display of pure genius by TOOL. They discuss this briefly in a special article that was done on TOOL in Revolver magazine this past year.

{6,7,5,8,4,9,13,1,12,2,11,3,10}, is not a Fibbonaci sequence. Sorry. |
