It really is nothing guys. When big time breeders have that much money invested they make darn sure a mare IS ovulating before they breed. That is why the stallion walked up and sniffed(aka teased) her for a few before he bred her. If she had squealed or tried to kick, he wouldn't have bred her. Everything else is just a precaution for all involved. Generally if a mare says NO, that means there is something wrong that needs to be tended to, ie infection, etc.

It's true. Mares do this all the time. But luckily, some mares are infertile, meaning they could never have any foals. But in a way, breeding mares is good, because once they are in heat, she becomes very unhappy. Emotionalyy and physically. so in a way, she's being helped.
