Alison never ceases to amaze me. Stunning performance. The root feel of the writing and the genre....

Not to mention, Polly Vaughn is WHAT? molly ban (pronounced BAWN) is IRISH. And if you look at Allison's lips when she says it, you see the B instead of the V when she says Bon......

It's Molly Ban and the Polly Vaughn is the misinterpretation of it. MOLLY BAN!

Molly or Polly? She is dead all the same. The pipes sound like the sobs of mourning and her voice is like a sad angel. all the musicians play with heart! In my hometown, a man was shot for wearing brown clothing - a hunter thought he was a deer. And there on her bosom, many salt tears he shed. Indeed!!!

If you study folk songs you know that many songs have tons of variants in both name and verse. This often comes from shifts in dialect as a population of people moves/travels and takes it's songs and traditons with it. A pub in England now known as the Goats and Compasses was originally God Encompass Us...lazy speech and dialect shifts make huge changes.
