Im reviewing for an exam today. Thank you for the help but it was overly complicated. Not all students are majoring in Mathematics. Most only need a simple efficient method to solve.

Thx. I found this video really, really helpful. There are many different ways to solve a problem. This instructor does a great job of showing us how to solve equations with the rules of equality. He starts with simple problems and works his way to more difficult ones. All the solutions he presents utilize the rules of equality in a nice concise manner. Good job!

for the second problem, multiply by a reciprocal? what? u could just divide 4 to both sides, its so much less confusing and easier. even i know that and i suck in algebra
