I believe your opinion seem to be quite on the mark; Jean-Marie Perier seem to had quite an influence on her during 1960's. At the end her shift in style was her choice, I doubt that consequent development had anything to do with drugs BUT wild playboy Dutronc, although Dutronc influence was quite markable (unfortunately) on her 80s style. Drugs and other wild stuff I strongly believe that she is above that nonsense, she seem to be very intelligent, as well quite conservative drugs? Naaah!

1966-67 should have been Hardy's break out year. She was poised to take on the American market, but something happened (break up with Jean Marie? Drugs? Dutronc?) Something screwed her up and she totally fizzled.

She does epithomise what is France all about.. a quality in life that only French find NATURAL and rest of us can only envy, is beuty in life and sacrificing everything for it.. She did sacrifice her briliant contribution to the art but then look at her children she made a choice.. a good one. I love her smile, and in my humble oppinion that is all what is LIFE about.. A smile worth living for and legacy that will one leave behind is either a smile or a failure.. she chose a smile.

"period where her husband influenced her quite a bit" - YitI think Dutronc fu%$ed her career up beyond recognition. Hardy had even broken into the US market with her movies n stuff in 66-67. Then "le playboy" came along and tanked her. xD!!! Some women just dont know how to pick 'em.

"France is in my opinion the major contributor to the modern democracy. USA would hardly be on the map, without French help.. tyrannies of Europe would still OWN their peasants" - YitEasy dude, its just a babe and her song. xD!!!!

How many thanks do I owe you, dear Francoise ... all those years and so much beauty from you!

I heard few add ones.. style was quite different I guess there is a period where her husband influenced her quite a bit.. pop-"art" was in "in" I guess. Marriage is a true partnership, so they (both singers) experimented a bit. But then her contribution is truly remarkable so few "experiments" here and there are done I guess for the good cause.. That is what marriage is all about.

I'm guessing this must be around '66, when her hair was more blonde, her skin more tanned, a la mode 'Californie,' before the couturiers got their claws on her. Thank God she eventually escaped those vultures. Her own style is much finer and subtler, don't you think?
